You will be mesmerized from the very first moment the giant creepy clown man comes on stage and invites you into witness a macabre carnival of 'human oddity'. The small, yet energetic band of musicians keeps the spell going all night. The story designers for Cirque du Soleil could learn a thing or two from Black Rider... A wickedly avant garde kind of Cabaret written by a mind the likes of Tim Burton. That, however, does not really do it justice... you just have to see it for yourself. "I have waited many years to see The Black Rider. I was so very excited on my way to the theatre, and I wasn't disappointed at all in your production. The music was incredible, the performance energetic, and the time just flew by. Mackenzie Gray sounded almost exactly like Tom Waits, Kevin Corey was an endearing as Wilhelm, and Michael Scholar Jr. was very sexy and evil as Satan/Pegleg. I also liked the sparse set design. "Go see this amazing and magical play..it is one of the best pieces of live theatre that I have see in a few years. The play is virtually flawless in all aspects of its performance. The acting, singing, choreography are brilliantly melded with the lighting and stagecraft. It is a dark tragic-comic piece that parallels William Burroughs own life. Robert Wilson's hand is also apparent as his unique stylistic sense prevails throughout the lighting, staging and visual wizardry.
