a little-known period in Canadian history and its reverberations through
several generations.
Playwright Joan MacLeod has won numerous awards, including the Governor
General's Award for Drama, two Chalmers’ Canadian Play Awards, the Jessie
Richardson Award, Betty Mitchell Award, and Dora Mavor Moore Award. Her
works have been translated into eight languages.
