Audience
"FABULOUS! Warm, funny, touching,
reflecting, insightful and honest. There couldn't be a
person who didn't take away something from this production.
It was an evening out I'll remember (and laugh about) for a
long time to come."
–Deb, Mission
"Are you feeling down, overwhelmed,
spiteful, hateful, and generally used up? Come and see Mom’s
The Word and feel empowered, revitalized, and realize the
absolute humour in being a Mom. Thanks ladies for moving me
from wanting out of the Mommy club to rejoicing and reveling
in it!"
—Wendy, Burnaby
"I was beginning to worry that this production was for women
only - the ratio of guys to gals in the audience was very
low! However, any parent can truly appreciate and enjoy this
production. My wife and I became "empty nesters" recently -
our only daughter is away at university. My wife has been
having some challenges with the change, so I thought it
might be helpful for her to look at motherhood from a
humorous perspective. She loved it, and was very encouraged
to realize that most of her experiences as a Mom are
commonly shared amongst all mothers. She also realized how
easy our daughter was/is on us! Please thank the cast for
pouring themselves into their roles so enthusiastically! We
laughed, cried, and are still playing scenes over again in
our memories!"
—Glen, Kelowna
"It was fantastic!!! Laughed so much and could easily relate
to these women."
—Karen, North Vancouver
"Were these ladies following me around for the past 5 years
of my mommy days? I have never laughed so hard about the
truth! What a fantastic group of performers and what a
perfect production of crazy situations that now make me
chuckle when they happen! Yes, I too am Mary Poppins in the
morning, and somehow turn in to Cruella Da Ville! by dinner!
Thanks for the belly ache and thanks for making me look at
my life as a mom as a fantastic funny journey!"
—Trudy
"Have not laughed so hard for a long time! Wonderful show.
Please tell me you will do a Mum's the Word: 4! Menopause,
daughter in-laws grand children....REVENGE!! I can only
imagine what you would come up with. Thank you for sharing
your talent."
—Jaycie, Delta
"I can't tell you how much we enjoyed it! I had seen the
first one and this one was every bit as good and maybe even
better because we are out the other side of 0 - 19 years of
age with our kids and can relate soooo well. Wonderful show.
Yes, I have told everyone and anyone who will listen how fab
you are."
—Dawn, Burnaby
"This truly is a look into the life of every-Mom! I took my
daughter, who is a new Mom. We were joined by a friend and
her octogenarian Mom. We all laughed until we cried. Have
these women been hiding in our homes watching our lives
unfold? My daughter had a glimpse of the future (not always
pretty) and the rest of us saw vignettes from the past."
—Bev, Maple Ridge
"I bought the tickets as we wanted a night out at the
theatre and there was not much happening. We did not know
anything about Mom's the Word in advance. What a surprise! A
hidden gem of outstanding theatre. One of the best things we
have seen in years. We are now booking with friends for the
touring production."
—Ian, West Vancouver
"I expected to enjoy this production, having seen one of the
Mom's shows previously. I was not disappointed. This is a
wonderful piece of theatre - funny, poignant, and universal
in its appeal."
—Leigh, Vancouver
"We have seen all 3 and each one is so much fun that we keep
bringing up fun parts for days after. We hope there will be
at least one more in the future."
—Gail and Greg, St. Albert
"It was a great show! I saw the first two "Mom's the Word"
and they took the best parts from both and added a few new
bits. The cast is amazing. They move from comedic monologues
to serious ones with ease and they all hit home. Well done!"
—Maureen, Richmond
"What an amazing insight into the thoughts, emotions and
experiences of the everyday mother and wife.I was exhausted
by the end of this performance, as for me, it was an
emotional rollercoaster. I never expected it to be so
thought provoking! Well done, I will tell all my friends and
family it is a must see! Thank you."
—Lana
"Could this be any funnier?
Congratulations on a great show."
—Wayne
"I saw the last mom's the word. When I saw the remix was
playing I could not wait to go! Brought my husband, he was
reluctant as he thought it was a "chick flick" Well ladies
he loved it! He thought every husband should see it! He
realizes I am now not crazy! Love ya!"
—Karen, Vancouver
"THE BEST production I have seen in a while!! I took my Mom
& Sister and it was an incredibly bonding time. The
actresses were talented and most importantly so very human.
I recommend this play highly."
—Donna, Delta
"My daughter and I have gone to all three plays. When my
daughter became a new Mom I thought this would be a great
play for both of us to see and so when each play was on we
would come down to Granville Island, have lunch, do some
shopping and then see the play; we have always enjoyed each
one and the actresses are exceptional. My daughter and I
could relate to so many topics of discussion. Loved them
all!!"
—Karyn
"This production was a gut busting barrel of fun. It was
heartening to know that we're not alone - other Mothers feel
as we feel and it's OK to not be perfect."
—Nicole
"I laughed, I cried - it was awesome!!! These incredibly
talented ladies helped me relive every joyful and
frustrating moment I have had as a Mom - a must see for any
mother!!!!"
—Sandra, Delta
"it was hilarious, from the beginning to the end....at times
as crazy as "Little Britain" with the more bitty
part...hmmm.
An excellent time was had. Thanks"
—David
"fantastic!!! I laughed so hard! One of the best shows I've
seen."
—Lisa
"LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the show... Saw "Mom's The Word" and
"Mom's The Word 2" with my 5 best girlie friends and the 6
of us enjoyed yet again a phenomenal, relatable, and oh so
hilarious latest production…I/we feel as if we have grown
right along with the cast and their children..."
—Cathy, Surrey
“I am a mother of a 3.5 year old boy and a 1 year old
girl... this play echoed my thoughts and experiences as a
mother to a tee! I l laughed so hard that I got the achy
cheek thing. Thank you for such a fun and ridiculously funny
evening!”
—Sandra
"Hilarious! All the joys & trials of motherhood revisited. I
went through every stage all over again. Thanks for the
laughs!”
—Linda, North Vancouver
“I laughed until tears ran down my cheeks. Just what I
needed was something to add to my perspective on life. All
the actors were fantastic they certainly knew their lines as
well as just what life as a parent and spouse is like. I
think every parent should see this play...it's great to be
able to relate and in turn to laugh at yourself!"
—Tara, Pender Island
"I have not enjoyed a night out as
much as this in a long time! I am going to bring my husband
back and let all my friends know how great a production this
is. The cast was funny and the delivery was a perfect mix of
hysterical and touching. Thank-you so much!"
—Cari, North
Vancouver
"Every rebirth of "Mom's the Word" is an excellent
exploration of motherhood issues and angst that makes me
laugh and cry as I relive my own moments of joy and
frustration. The best part about this show is the collective
realization by all the mothers in the audience that they are
not alone, and all parents share the same challenges,
triumphs and screw ups. Laughed out loud, again and again."
—Sandra, Vancouver
"A fantastic light hearted event that, if you have children,
is so relevant and on the mark. we laughed, had sympathy,
and overall enjoyed ourselves. Bravo!!"
—Mitch and Katarzyna, Abbotsford
"Just wonderful!! I never laughed so hard in my life, ever.
I loved it and will see it again. Best "realistic" comedy
I've ever seen. What a fun time. Every mom should see this."
—Marta
"Fun! Fun! Fun! If you are a mom or a dad, this is a great
way to laugh at yourself and to enjoy an outrageous and
hilarious perspective of the joys, challenges and horrors of
childbearing and childrearing." —Jill, North Vancouver
"THANK YOU, that was so much fun. My 20 year old musical
theatre student, daughter, Chanelle and I laughed until we
cried. What a wonderful show. BRAVO..."
—Caroline
"This was by far the best play I've
seen in a long long time. Eight of us went and we were all
laughing so hard throughout the entire performance that we
were all crying! It was incredibly hilarious, yet so true in
depicting the many ages and stages of our children. I wish
every mother could see it as I think they would love it as
much as we all did. Now if only we could all laugh as much
as we did at the play on a daily basis in our lives about
the trials and tribulations of being a mother! Such an
amazing play..."
—Freia, New Westminster
"Fantastic! So true, I laughed hard
and understood all three shows: Mom's the Word (saw it in
Duncan, B.C years ago), Mom's the Word 2: Unhinged
(Granville Island), Mom's the Word: Remixed (Granville
Island). I took my oldest daughter to the last two shows and
she related to the moms as a teen and early 20's person. I
would recommend that any and all people see the play because
it's about everyday life with kids from a humorous point of
view. Loved it I can't wait until they do another one, maybe
as Grandmas, who knows"
—Carolyn
"Absolutely loved it. I was either laughing or crying the
whole performance. The cast is amazing! What a fantastic
performance!"
—Sarah
"LOVED LOVED LOVED THE PLAY... seen them ALL!!! I cannot
wait for the next progression of comedy which I am hopeful
will be about 'menopause'!!
These woman have brought real life to the stage - thank you
for allowing us to share in it together!"
—Anne, Surrey
"A superb performance by all 5 women! Absolutely hilarious!
I laughed all the way through!!! A must see for everyone!"
—Debbie, Vancouver
"A must see!!!
Every aspect of the show is brilliant."
—Natalie
"Absolutely loved it! It's hilarious. Should be required viewing
for expecting mothers. Every mother can relate in some way. Even my
husband thought it was great!!"
— Janniene, Langley
"It was wonderful. We loved the acting, the laughs and the moments
that touched our hearts. We will have no problem spreading the
"word" - hope to see it again when the show hits Vernon, BC."
—Kelly, Vernon
"I went to see Remixed with a group of friends with whom I had seen
the original! Our children were in preschool or older at the time
and now we are parents of high school graduates or older. I cannot
tell you how much we enjoyed this production. We all had such a good
time and would like to thank the cast for sharing these stories with
us."
