The revealing true story
When middle-aged Annie Clarke loses her husband to leukemia, her best friend suggests a—ahem—cheeky new way to raise money for research. But their fellow Women’s Institute members balk at baring—well, almost baring—it all! Gradually, though, these prim tea-and-crumpets ladies “of a certain age” come around and learn to delight in their newfound pluckiness and status as international sensations.

Running time: Approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, including one intermission

"I thought it was a wonderful show, very funny and quite sad at the same time.
When I woke up this morning I heard Anna Galvin(Chris) being interviewed by the morning host of CKNW which was interesting particularly as she said the original Chris (Calendar Girl) was in attendance at the first night of the production. I thought they were all wonderful and particularly Shirley Broderick, good on her for being in this lovely production! Thank you and I am looking forward to seeing the Bill Richardson production of Craigslist this Thursday"
—Juliet, North Vancouver

"There was such warmth and intimacy in this production of Calendar Girls. It was so funny that at times the whole theatre audience exploded with laughter--and at other times, I doubt there was a dry eye in the house. A perfect show to take your mom, sister, or best girlfriend to"
—Christa

"This was a lovely comedy that had me and the guests around me laughing out loud"
—Sandra, Richmond

"Great show and performance. Amusing and very well presented. Laugh out loud funny in some places with witty and dry dialogue. Thought the actors did a good job with the regional accents. Would highly recommend to others and have already suggested that a friend attend the performance"
—Johanna, New Westminster

"EXCELLENT production!! I thoroughly enjoyed the show and the laughter... bar none... I'm still chuckling to myself as I remember some of the scenes. Well done and the ladies were so "artfully" draped! I've spread the word today and have encouraged all that I've spoken with to go and see the show!!"
—Freda

—Tannis

"Beautifully done from start to finish. The accents were perfect, the humor rich, and the laughter near constant with many good lines. Those of us touched by cancer were able to relate to the play very well, and this aspect of the story was covered with appropriate sensitivity. Well done throughout"

"Moving and hilarious in turns, (and sometimes at the same time), this is a well-crafted and well-presented play. As in the true story and in this portrayal, it is delightful to see that our seemingly youth-obsessed society is ready for and even eager for a broader-based definition of beauty. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at Calendar Girls and salute the actresses for their bravery, graceful skill and keen sense of comic timing"
—Helen, Vancouver

"I loved this play. It made me cry, and made me laugh out loud. For awhile, I was in England with them. Wonderful!"
—Wendy

"We found the production of Calendar Girls and all the actors delightful and would certainly recommend the show"
—Linda

"My mom and I went to see Calendar Girls yesterday. We had loved the movie. I had cancer 2 yrs ago and now my mom has just been diagnosed with it. This play version of the movie lacked nothing but the English countryside. In fact, we laughed more and cried more than the movie. We are from England and thought the accents were good. It was very touching and very well done. We also were quite impressed with the set and staging . Great job all around...I would see it again and recommend it to anyone (over 18 ...lol)"
—Joanna, Abbotsford

"Loved it, funny, entertaining, an all around enjoyable performance and night out!"
—Dana, Vancouver

"All four of us loved the play!! It was clever, funny and heartwarming. We were thoroughly impressed with the Yorkshire accents, and thought all the actors did an amazing job. Thanks for a fabulous night out, and for our seat upgrades!"
—Katie, Vancouver

"An interesting and thought provoking production on a subject dear to the hearts of many....worthy of anybody's time....congratulations to all the dynamic and brave cast members.....the entire production... acting, stage lighting, set design and directing were outstanding.....thank you all"
—Kenneth

"Non-stop laugh from start to finish! Superb performance & direction!! It's truly one of a kind!!!"
—Romy
