Audience Comments

"The show was great. Lots of heart. Engaged performers. What a treat for a rainy winter day"
—Brian

"Truly brilliant....90 minutes just flew by and I was sorry the show was over. Casting was spot on! Great singing and acting, stage design and music. We are so lucky to have such talented folk involved in this show. I have recommended Craigslist Cantata to all my friends and even put a note on the noticeboard at work saying how great it is. Keep up the good work...I'm off to list all the types of penguins:)"
—Chris, Vancouver

"The music was great, the lyrics both witty and profound. The cast was really excellent both as actors and singers and the show conveyed both the humour, and pathos of the human condition. We thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish"
—Marisa, Vancouver

"Excellent performance! Extremely talented cast! Crazy but fun!"
—Ellen, Vancouver

"Wow, what a show! Explosions of laughter interrupted by human frailties and vulnerabilities. Perfect casting, a brilliant marriage of music and lyrics - Veda Hille is such a natural talent! Please, share this with the rest of the world! Kudos to all!"
—James, Vancouver

"I bought these tickets for my mom and dad for Christmas and they saw it last night. My dad said he has never laughed that much in his entire life (he's 72). My mom kept thinking of parts of the show while watching my daughter's soccer game and telling me about them and laughing at the same time. They both said it was excellent and would recommend it to anyone”
—Debbie

"Eight of us went to see the show and afterwards we were all chuckling about the many hilarious scenes. The lyrics painted pictures that were funny and in some cases sad. If the lyrics were taken from real life Craigslist ads, then we can see there are a lot of strange and lonely people out there wanting to connect. What a great cast - so talented, especially musically. It must have been a challenge to learn the material”
—Russell

"Thoroughly enjoyed the performance, as did my husband. I am nicknamed "The Craig's List Queen" in our house, so we both got a special chuckle out of the various ads depicted in the play. Great singing and a terrific piano player - lots of talent there!!! A great outing - lots of laughs on an otherwise quiet Monday evening!!!"
—Jennifer, Delta

"OMG - clever, clever, and did I say clever? I generally say "I don't like musicals" but on the basis of an interview on Q, I was intrigued enough to buy tickets. So glad I did. On the surface, an incredibly entertaining show. Below the surface, nuanced statements on life, loneliness, community, and connection. The actors were so well-cast - I loved every one of them. But then again - script by Bill Richardson and music by Veda Hille; how could you go wrong? If there's a repeat run, I'll be back - with a dozen of my closest friends!"
—Rachel

"Hilarious, touching, and so, so clever! A joy from start to finish, a series of poignant portraits, and truly great entertainment.
Outstanding performances by the entire cast!"
—Christina, North Vancouver

"I’m so glad I went to this show! Loved every line, song, dance and act. Definitely should continue - in Vancouver as well as ‘on the road.’
Veda Hille and Bill Richardson have co-crafted one of the funniest, yet poignant, musicals I've seen. I'm sure it was lots of hard work putting it together, filled with side-splitting laughter"
—Pat, Vancouver

"Really enjoyed this production, it was very funny at times and easy to relate to the subject matter. I will always view Craigslist with different eyes from now on!"
—Juliet, North Vancouver

"Laugh out loud hilarious and absolutely poignant, Do You Want What I Have Got is a must see! How lucky are we to have the talented Veda Hille and Bill Richardson as our own!"
—Barbara

"Entertaining, funny, and often moving. At the end of the evening I felt much the same as after the first time I saw Jacques Brel (in the early 70s at the Arts Club on Seymour of course)"
—Neil

"Really enjoyed this show based upon such an unusual subject. Very creative and imaginative presentation. Excellent acting by gifted players"
—Chris, Vancouver

"WOW! What a great performance! It was 90 minutes of continuous entertainment. The gamut of emotions were experienced and the feeling at the end was tremendous. Standing ovations were well deserved"
—Donaleen

"I knew it'd be lively, brilliant, and colossally entertaining - but I wasn't prepared for the sheer wild talent of the players. What singing, acting, dancing, whoosh!....Remarkable talents and exemplary ensemble work. Missed so many lines laughing my head off :-))
My partner and I were completely disarmed. I’m coming again with a bunch of friends"
—Abegael, North Vancouver

"So funny I thought my face would fall off!
P.S. To the guy sitting next to me in the front row with the popcorn stuck in his hair: sorry I sat on your umbrella, would love to buy you a new one—wanna get a hotdog at IKEA sometime?"
—Sarah, Vancouver

"A nonstop 90 minutes of witty hilarious lines delivered with ripe talent! Great cast!"
—Annie, Delta

"The cast is sublime and just perfect in their roles. This is an incredibly weird and zany production and so very, very funny. It is cleverly staged and perfect for the intimate Revue Stage. What has remained with me is its sheer poignancy and tender understanding of the human condition. I regret never having looked at Craigslist, something that will be rectified immediately!"
—Donia, Delta

"Friday night I enjoyed a simply top notch production of "Do You Have What I Want? A Craigslist Cantata" written by Bill Richardson and Veda Hille. It was the best play I've seen in a long time. Funny! Great music, singing, writing and acting... the actors are excellent and in particular Dmitry Chepovetsky and Selina Martin are stunning as they morph between diverse roles. Veda Hille's music, singing and playing is wonderful. A fabulous performance which whizzed by in the shortest hour and a half of my life. Thank you so much"
—Heather, Vancouver

"A fun way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon. My teenage daughter & I enjoyed the performance; delightfully entertaining. Very talented group of actors. Looking forward to seeing more plays this year"

—Wanda

"Wow ....Tremendous ....One of the high lights of this season. Funny, thought provoking. Loved every second of it"
—John, Vancouver

"Brilliant! Funny, witty, absurd, and quite sad. An extremely well constructed cantata reflecting our modern lives. The cast were all ideally suited to their diverse roles. It made one reflect upon the absurdities of our daily lives, and our need to be 'seen' or noticed.
The music was very accessible and fun. Can't wait to see it transfer to Broadway (winky face emoticon) A great evening!"
—Anthony, Vancouver

"Loved it! I wanted the scenes to keep on coming"
—Candy

"Taking inspiration from an everyday subject, this is a sparkling production with a strong cast . Well worthwhile"

"Hysterical. A very pleasant surprise. Relevant and fun"
—Bruce

"Fabulously funny and touchingly revealing, we thoroughly enjoyed the Saturday matinee performance of 'Do You Want What I Have Got'. Congrats to all who collaborated to make a wonderful show"
—Latifah, Langley

"This was a terrific production! I sat there with a perma-grin, at times laughing myself to tears. The whole thing was hilarious; the music, singing and dancing were great, yet it was also a thought-provoking commentary on our media/social network-centric society. I highly recommend this to everyone!"
—Cate, Vancouver

"I loved it. Witty, charming, and oh so moving. The ensemble work was wonderful...the great cast, the playful and provocative music and lyrics, the telepathically clear and effective direction. A surprising and delightful meditation on the human condition and our need to connect"
—Ann Marie, Vancouver
