“My mother says you know when you’re grown up. It’s the moment you stop being happy and start remembering when you used to be.”

And so began the story of Iris and her last moments of childhood in the final show of the Granville Island Stage's 2001/2002 Season, Girl in the Goldfish Bowl. Amidst the threats of an atomic missile crisis, her parents' crumbling marriage and the promise of a mysterious stranger who closely resembles her beloved dead goldfish, Iris took us on a journey full of hope, heartbreak…and halibut. Girl in the Goldfish Bowl, by Governor General's Award-winner Morris Panych, was the Arts Club Theatre Company's most successful world-premiere ever.
