LOVERS, STRANGERS, SHRINKS AND FINKS

"I like people on the whole. It's individuals I can't stand."
~ Nurse Wilson

Life, death and interior decorating are given a high-flying perspective in Morris Panych's absurdist comedy. From the seventh story ledge of an apartment building, a man contemplates suicide. Meanwhile, the inhabitants of the building pop in and out of the man's deliberations, too absorbed in their own chaos to help him out of his own.

"Stunningly theatrical, endlessly witty and cruelly clear-headed. It's a guaranteed smart good time." ~ Colin Thomas, The Georgia Straight

"It's vintage Panych-intelligent, caustically witty and hugely theatrical." ~ Jo Ledingham, The Vancouver Courier

"FUNNY AND PROFOUND...A SHOW EVERYONE WILL LOVE" ~ Jerry Wasserman, CBC Radio One

"THE CAST IS BRILLIANT...A BREATH OF FRESH AIR" ~  The Vancouver Sun

7 Stories, first produced by Arts Club Theatre Company in 1989, won six Jessie awards in 1990, went on to sell out the Tarragon Theatre (Toronto) in 1991, and has remained a popular hit across the country ever since. CBC Radio said, "Panych mixes Magritte, Sartre, Woody Allen, and the Book of Job with Buster Keaton and Magic Realism. It's special chemistry with special results."

A Note from Bill
Morris has such an amazing body of work that it was difficult to chose just one for this anniversary season. 7 Stories has a very unique combination of humour, pathos and ultimately optimism that seems very appropriate at this time.
