Re: ALTAR BOYZ
CASTING CALL

The Arts Club Theatre is currently accepting resumes for its production of the musical ALTAR BOYZ by Kevin Del Aguila, Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker. ALTAR BOYZ is a satirical musical comedy about a fictitious Christian boy-band on the last night of their national “Raise the Praise” tour. We are looking for males between 18 and 25 years of age with musical theatre experience. The director is Bill Millerd, Sasha Niechoda is Musical Director, and Sara Jeanne Hosie is the Choreographer.


Auditions will be held in Vancouver in mid-July. Those selected for an audition will be asked to prepare and bring sheet music for a song from a 1990’s “Boy Band” such as the BackStreet Boys, NSYNC, 98 Degrees, Boyz II Men, Boyzone or Take That. A dance audition will follow the vocal audition; auditioners should bring appropriate clothing and footwear. Actors who are unable to attend the audition are asked to send a photo, resume and video or dvd audition of a “Boy Band” song and a short dance routine.

Rehearsals will begin mid-December, and will go on tour across British Columbia from approximately January 14 – February 15, 2009. The show will then run at the Arts Club’s Granville Island Stage from June 18 – August 1, 2009.

GENERAL AUDITIONS 

The Arts Club Theatre Company will be holding General Auditions August 20 and 21, 2008.

Bill Millerd, Artistic Director for the company will be attending. Those who have auditioned for Mr. Millerd in the last year need not re-submit. Non-Equity performers are welcome and will be scheduled to audition after all Canadian Actors’ Equity Association members have been seen. Auditioners will be asked to prepare one contemporary monologue not more than 3 minutes in length.
