MUSICAL THEATRE INTENSIVE

July 28 – August 15, 2008

The Arts Club Theatre Company is offering the seventh year of a summer musical theatre workshop for young people (suggested age 14-19 years old).

During the fifteen days students will focus on acting technique through solo performance and scene work. We will explore the audition process: how to prepare, what to expect, and how to get the gig, put into practice with a highly respected panel monitoring the Mock Audition. Instruction in music theory and song analysis will strengthen everyone’s sight-reading ability. By the end of the program every student will have mastered a song and monologue and will have performed in both small and large ensemble numbers, including in the final Showcase Performance on the Granville Island Stage.

An intimate class size will ensure lots of individual attention to all students. Instructors include Peter Jorgensen, Courtenay Ennis and Sandra Ferens Shelley Stewart Hunt.

Cost of the workshop: $785 + GST
