Sunday Prologue Lecture Series
Sunday, September 24, 2006
Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage

Lecturer:  Tom Pickett
Topic: African Roots of the Blues

Tom Pickett made his professional theatre debut in Vancouver which led to an invitation to join the Hal Prince production of Show Boat. Tom’s vocal experience includes jazz, blues, R&B, Gospel, Rick & Roll, and Country. His musical development started early with his father’s group The Original 4 Aces. While growing up to the sounds of Stax, Motown Beatles, and Philadelphia Soul, Tom always had a love and respect for the roots of that music. One of Tom’s earliest performing experiences was opening for Bobby Freeman in San Francisco.
